What is Compounded Semaglutide & Tirzepatide? With the popularity of GLP-1 weight loss injections that include brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro & Rybelsus, accessibility& affordability has become an ever present issue. Compounded semaglutide combines the FDA approved active ingredient semaglutide with a body safe vitamin such as B12. An FDA approved, regulated & sterile compounding pharmacy mixes the formula based on the medical providers prescription. Compounded semaglutide & tirzepatide offers the same results but at a fraction of the cost of brand names such as Ozempic, Mounjaro & Wegovy. The reason behind the lower cost is that you're not paying for the injection pens, large manufacturing facility & distribution. Sending the prescription directly from compounding pharmacy to patient home further minimizes cost. Benefits include individualization of dose, combining semaglutide with additional vitamins to increase efficiency & reduce side effects. The medication you may be prescribed is a generic compounded medication and is not associated with the Novo Nordisk™ company or the brand-name medications Wegovy® or Ozempic® Here at Altru Telehealth, we have vetted our compounding pharmacies thoroughly. Our compounding pharmacies are all FDA approved, sterile & follow the strictest safety guidelines to maintain their certifications.

What is the expected weight loss?Semaglutide weight loss is dependent on multiple factors but most clients usually lose at least 5% of their initial body weight when they were at the therapeutic dose. For example, for a 200 pound person, it can be as high as 10% which equates to a weight loss of 10–20 pounds during that time in a 12 week period. Tirzepatide is a GLP-1 & GIP with up to 15% weight loss and lower side effects compared to other GLP-1 medications. Everyone is different and every weight loss journey is unique. Successful weight loss incorporates lifestyle modifications that include adequate protein intake with health food choices and incorporating weight resistant exercises.
